I read a number of reviews before purchasing this model. Everyone seemed to like this one, and the only concern I saw was that some people wanted it to have a removable container to make it easier to clean. I noticed, though, that most models commonly do not have removable containers, so I assumed it chills better that way. Yes, it is a bit of a pain to clean it, but it makes the most outstanding ice cream that I don't mind a bit! It is very easy to use (put in the ingredients, push two buttons, set the timer), and chills quickly. The recommended time is 30 minutes, but the timer can be set up to 60 minutes, and I found 40 is about right for a soft-serve consistency. I sometimes put it in the freezer for a few more hours if I want it firmer, but it's great right out of the machine. This is a top quality machine, and worth the money.

Advice - don't tighten the nut down much on the beater when you put it in. I did that once, and it tightened up further while freezing - I needed a wrench to remove it - so be gentle on it and make it easy for yourself! Also, if you go with one good ice cream book, get "The Perfect Scoop" by David Lebovitz. Between that book and this machine, I'm in heaven!

My machine broke only after 2 months of use, the nut on the blade stock so firmly nothing anyone can do to unscrew it. My husband tried, my brother, my in-laws, my friends tried, nothing works. I called customer service number, and they were very rude to me, sounded very annoyed and suggested I souk it in the water. However, it's impossible,
considering that the bolt is higher than the bowl level. So, now I am still occasionally use it, but washing it is so much more difficult with the sharp blade stock inside. I am surprised of how bad is the customer service considering how expensive is the machine.
